On 28 April 2026, the EU published a corrigendum to Council Regulation (EU) 2024/1745, which amends the bloc's core Russia sanctions framework.

The corrigendum does not concern the English version.

Regulation (EU) 2024/1745, adopted on 24 June 2024, modified Regulation (EU) No. 833/2014—the primary EU sanctions instrument targeting Russian entities and activities in response to the Ukraine conflict. The corrigendum corrects errors or inconsistencies in the German, French, or other official EU language versions of the June 2024 regulation, but makes no changes to the English text.

Shippers and compliance teams relying on the English-language version of EU sanctions rules need not update their procedures or screening workflows. However, organizations operating in EU member states that use German, French, or other official EU languages should verify whether the corrigendum affects their interpretation of restricted goods, services, or entity lists under the amended sanctions regime.

The corrigendum itself does not disclose what errors were corrected or which language versions were affected. Businesses subject to these restrictions should consult the full text of both Regulation (EU) No. 833/2014 and Regulation (EU) 2024/1745 via EUR-Lex to confirm their compliance obligations remain unchanged.

What this means for shippers

If your organization screens shipments against EU sanctions rules in English, no action is required—the English version stands unchanged. If you operate in a non-English EU jurisdiction or use translated compliance documentation, review the corrigendum on EUR-Lex to ensure your prohibited-party lists and sanctions screening logic align with the corrected official text. Use our sanctions screening tool to verify all counterparties and shipment destinations against current EU and international restrictions.
