EU Tariff Regulation Corrigendum Published

The European Union published a corrigendum to Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 in the Official Journal on 27 April 2026. According to the notice, "The corrigendum does not concern the English version."

This means the correction applies to non-English language versions of the regulation. While the substantive content remains unchanged in English-language references, importers, exporters, and customs brokers operating in non-English EU member states should review the corrected text to ensure compliance and accurate customs declarations.

Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 addresses data protection and privacy frameworks relevant to customs administration and cross-border trade operations. Any language-specific clarifications in the corrigendum may affect how national customs authorities interpret or apply the rules.

What this means for shippers

If you ship to or from EU member states and reference regulatory guidance in languages other than English, obtain the corrected version from EUR-Lex to confirm there are no material changes to your compliance procedures. For English-language operations, no action is required based on this corrigendum.
