OFAC removes entities from SDN List

The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has unblocked property and removed one or more persons from the Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) List, according to a notice published June 2, 2026. Shippers and freight forwarders must screen their counterparties against the updated SDN List to confirm whether sanctioned parties have been delisted and transactions may now proceed.

OFAC removes entities from SDN List

On June 2, 2026, the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) published a notice confirming that one or more persons have been unblocked and removed from the Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) List. The notice does not specify the names of the delisted entities, but any party whose property interests have been unblocked is no longer subject to U.S. sanctions restrictions.

When entities are removed from the SDN List, their property in the United States is unblocked and transactions with them are no longer prohibited under OFAC regulations. Exporters, importers, and freight forwarders must update their compliance screening procedures to reflect the change.

What this means for shippers

If you trade with parties previously on the SDN List, verify the current SDN List immediately via the Treasury website or your compliance software. Remove any de-listed entities from your blocked-party watch list to restore normal operations. Failure to screen current transactions against an outdated SDN list exposes you to penalties and operational delays. Check the complete delisting notice and update your denied-party screening now.
