US adds anti-dumping duties on air compressors from China, Malaysia, Vietnam
The US International Trade Commission issued final anti-dumping determinations on air compressors imported from China, Malaysia, and Vietnam, effective June 18, 2026. Shippers exporting these products to the US must now comply with additional anti-dumping duties on top of baseline tariffs. The determinations follow investigation into alleged below-cost selling practices in these three countries.

The US International Trade Commission has issued final anti-dumping determinations on air compressors originating from China, Malaysia, and Vietnam, as published in the Federal Register on June 18, 2026. These determinations impose additional duties on air compressor imports beyond standard tariff rates and take effect immediately upon publication.
Who is affected
Manufacturers, exporters, and freight forwarders shipping air compressors (HS Chapter 84, including compressors classified under 8414) from China, Malaysia, or Vietnam to the United States must factor in anti-dumping duty liabilities. Importers already holding entries in liquidation may face revised assessments.
The anti-dumping investigation was initiated based on allegations that producers in these three countries were selling air compressors at prices below fair value, thereby injuring domestic US manufacturers. The ITC's affirmative determination means:
- All entries of subject merchandise are subject to anti-dumping duties
- Duties apply retroactively from the investigation initiation date
- Importer-specific duty rates may vary based on vendor/exporter history
What this means for shippers
Air compressor exporters in China, Malaysia, and Vietnam must immediately incorporate anti-dumping duty exposure into landed-cost calculations for all US-bound shipments. Freight forwarders quoting US customers on these products must reflect the new duty liabilities or face margin erosion. Review your vendor factory records now—the ITC's public file will show company-specific rates; importers without a rate on record face the "all others" rate, typically much higher. Update your compliance procedures today to avoid assessment surprises. /us-china-tariff-lookup
