US initiates AD/CVD administrative reviews for April anniversary orders

The U.S. Department of Commerce has initiated administrative reviews of antidumping and countervailing duty orders with April anniversary dates, following receipt of review requests. These routine reviews examine whether subject merchandise continues to warrant existing duties and may result in duty-rate adjustments or continuation of current rates.

Commerce Opens Administrative Reviews for AD/CVD Orders

The U.S. Department of Commerce announced on June 2, 2026, that it is initiating administrative reviews of various antidumping duty (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) orders carrying April anniversary dates. The reviews follow standard requests received by Commerce and proceed in accordance with established regulatory procedures.

"The U.S. Department of Commerce (Commerce) has received requests to conduct administrative reviews of various antidumping duty (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) orders with April anniversary dates. In accordance with Commerce's regulations, we are initiating those administrative reviews."

Administrative reviews are periodic examinations of existing AD and CVD orders. They allow Commerce to recalculate duty rates for subject merchandise and determine whether trade-remedy duties should continue, be modified, or be revoked. The reviews typically assess whether dumping or subsidization persists and, if so, at what margin or countervailable subsidy rate.

Exporters, importers, and domestic producers of merchandise covered by these orders—the specific countries, commodities, and HS chapters affected—should monitor the Federal Register and Commerce's International Trade Administration website for detailed scoping notices, questionnaires, and deadlines. The scope and affected parties vary by individual order and are set out in the full Federal Register document.

The standard administrative review cycle includes a preliminary determination (typically 245 days from initiation) and a final determination. Parties may request withholding of appraisement (suspension of liquidation) during the review, and new shipper reviews may be available for certain exporters not previously covered.

What this means for shippers

If you import merchandise subject to existing AD or CVD orders with April anniversaries, your landed costs may change when preliminary rates are published. Monitor Commerce's International Trade Administration website for the full list of affected orders and file comments or factual information if you believe the order misclassifies your product or company. Review your duty-deferral strategies and landed-cost models now—preliminary duty rates could shift significantly from current cash-deposit rates. /anti-dumping is not a valid internal link; instead, consult /landed-cost to model the impact of potential duty-rate changes.
