US lifts antidumping duty on Chinese aluminum wire and cable
The U.S. Department of Commerce has rescinded the antidumping duty order on aluminum wire and cable from China, effective for the December 2023–November 2024 review period. This means importers of these products no longer face antidumping duties on shipments from China during that period. The rescission applies to HS Chapter 76 (aluminum products), specifically wire and cable classifications.

On June 4, 2026, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced the rescission of an antidumping duty administrative review on aluminum wire and cable from the People's Republic of China. The period of review (POR) covered December 1, 2023, through November 30, 2024.
"The U.S. Department of Commerce (Commerce) is rescinding the administrative review of the antidumping duty (AD) order on aluminum wire and cable from the People's Republic of China (China)."
This rescission means that the antidumping duties previously imposed on imports of aluminum wire and cable from China are no longer enforceable for shipments within the specified review period. Importers of these products should verify their entry records and customs declarations to determine whether prior duties were assessed and whether refunds or adjustments may apply.
Aluminum wire and cable products typically fall under HS Chapter 76, which covers aluminum and articles thereof. The rescission affects the classification of finished aluminum conductors, wiring harnesses, and related electrical-transmission products sourced from China.
Freight forwarders and importers who have been subject to antidumping duty assessments on these goods should review their cost of goods and landed-cost calculations, particularly if they have outstanding entries or pending duty litigation. The rescission may also affect pricing strategies for Chinese aluminum-wire suppliers moving forward, as the duty-free status removes a significant cost barrier for the 2023–2024 period.
What this means for shippers
If you imported aluminum wire and cable from China between December 1, 2023, and November 30, 2024, verify whether antidumping duties were charged on your entries and file for refunds or adjustments with CBP if applicable. Recalculate your landed costs for affected shipments and update supplier pricing agreements to reflect the duty-free status for this period. Check with your customs broker or forwarder immediately to confirm compliance and recover any overpaid duties.
