US Anti-Dumping Duty on Korean Acrylates & Methacrylates
The US International Trade Commission has issued a final anti-dumping determination on multifunctional acrylate and methacrylate monomers and oligomers imported from South Korea. The decision concludes the investigation and establishes duties on these chemicals, which are used in coatings, adhesives, and specialty polymers. Importers of these products from South Korea must now account for anti-dumping tariffs in landed-cost calculations.
Korea SAP antidumping review: LG Chem clears preliminary dumping test
The U.S. Department of Commerce has issued preliminary results in its administrative review of antidumping duties on superabsorbent polymers (SAP) from South Korea for the period December 1, 2023–November 30, 2024. Commerce preliminarily determined that LG Chem, Ltd., the major Korean SAP producer under review, did not sell subject merchandise below normal value during the review period, meaning no dumping margin was found for this respondent. The final determination is pending public comment and will follow in due course.
US anti-dumping duties imposed on Vietnamese polypropylene boxes
The U.S. Department of Commerce has issued a final affirmative determination of dumping for polypropylene corrugated boxes from Vietnam, covering the investigation period of July 1–December 31, 2024. The finding establishes that Vietnamese exporters are selling these boxes at less than fair value (LTFV) in the U.S. market and that critical circumstances exist. This determination triggers the imposition of anti-dumping duties and will affect importers, freight forwarders, and e-commerce merchants sourcing corrugated packaging from Vietnam.
US finalizes anti-dumping duties on PET resin from Oman
The U.S. Department of Commerce has issued final anti-dumping duty results for polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin imported from the Sultanate of Oman for the 2023–2024 review period (May 1, 2023 – April 30, 2024). Commerce determined that OCTAL SAOC FZC, the sole producer/exporter under review, sold subject merchandise at less than normal value, triggering anti-dumping duties. PET resin exporters from Oman and importers sourcing from that country must immediately review their landed costs and duty exposure.
US initiates anti-dumping probe on polyether glycol from China, Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam
The US Department of Commerce has initiated less-than-fair-value (LTFV) investigations into polytetramethylene ether glycol (PTMEG) imported from China, Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam, effective May 5, 2026. The investigation will determine whether these countries are dumping the product into the US market at prices below fair value. If dumping is confirmed, anti-dumping duties may be imposed on future imports from these countries. Shippers exporting or importing PTMEG from these four nations should prepare for potential tariff changes and duty deposits on affected shipments.
